Sentiment in Turkish, Arabic, Persian, Hebrew and French

Materials in these five languages now get a real positive, negative or neutral tone, as English, Russian and Kazakh already did.

Scano now scores sentiment for materials in Turkish, Arabic, Persian, Hebrew and French, in addition to English, Russian and Kazakh. Before, materials in these languages were always marked Neutral.

The tone feeds everything that uses sentiment: the sentiment filter, analytics charts, reports and alerts.

  • Tone is set when a material is collected, so it applies to materials collected from 8 September. Older materials in these languages may still show as neutral.
  • As with any automatic sentiment, check before you quote: short, factual announcements are sometimes read as positive.

To change the tone of a single material, use the sentiment control on its card.
