Data handling: where your data lives and how to delete it

A new Data handling page sets out where data is hosted, what Scano collects, how long it is kept and who can reach it, and organization admins can request deletion of their organization's data in the app.

Scano's primary application servers and databases are hosted in Kazakhstan. How the service handles data today is now set out on one page: Data handling.

  • A public page. Where data lives, what we collect, how long it is kept, how it is deleted and who can reach it, plus encryption, sub-processors and your rights. Anything not in place yet is marked Planned. The site footer links to the page. The top of the Data handling page: hosted in KZ, the version, and the first two sections
  • Data & privacy. Organization admins find the same statement in the app: the Data & privacy link sits in the account menu in the new design, and at the bottom of the start page and Settings in the classic one.The lower part of the account menu with the Data & privacy link
  • Deletion request. The same page has a Delete organization data card covering themes, monitored materials, social inboxes, connected profiles, users and exports. The request can be canceled within 30 days; after that the Scano team deletes the data permanently. The Delete organization data card with the Request deletion button
